Thinking about my garden plan

It's that time again! I usually start getting my thoughts together for my veggie garden.

I read an article recently about only using "untreated Heirloom" seeds, especially when growing corn. : Toxic pollen from genetically-modified corn is killing the monarch butterflies. Greenpeace reports that tests done on rats fed with genetically engineered corn proved the feed to be toxic to the rat's liver and kidneys". I wonder what it is doing to ours? I also read that the FDA says that 40% of the corn produced in the US, is genetically modified. Makes you sick doesn't it? and ....no pun intended! LOL!

Ok so I found a great web store that sells Heirloom & untreated seeds called Victory Seeds They are out of Oregon and have some really wonderful seeds available.

So back to my post.... I want to grow (this year) Corn, pumpkins, tomatoes (do I really have to state that one...LOL) zuccini , bell peppers. I'm going to try my hand again at a real herb garden. We will see how that one goes.I am still going through my list of "can I grow that here" list.

I'll get back to you on exactly what I am for sure going to grow. I also plan on documenting all with pictures here on this blog. Well, I must go for now.....I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Have a great New Year! I'll post back in a week!

My son turns 5 today!

Yes, it is truly hard to believe. My little boy is 5 years old today. I miss all the "baby" days when I could hold him in my arms. Now, he just runs away...LOL!

Happy Birthday to my lovely son.
May the Lord bless you and keep you safe for another year
and many more years to come.
