Almost TV-Free

I read on another blog this morning about being TV-free. I just wanted to second that! We had been without commerical TV for several months...that is until the Olympics. My husband just HAD to watch them. While watching that I learned about the whole DTV transition so, I applied for the $40.00 discount card because, our TV's are old and we don't want to buy new ones. We ...I mean ...Me, I'm to cheap to let my husband purchase something that will want him to get Cable or Dish. I like not having that distraction and for me, it is just that, a distraction. So, I get the coupon in the mail and I go out to purchase one of those converter boxes. Well, I must say...they are more than $40.00. They are like $60.00. I get it home and plug it in.

WOW!

What a difference in reception. I can get most of my local channels clear...I mean like I was watching it on cable...clear. It really was amazing. But of course, the one channel that I would like to get...I can't. PBS Wouldn't you know it. The channel I most would like to watch for my kids and for me. I love some of their Masterpiece Theater productions and the cooking shows. But no, I can't...not yet anyway. Maybe in when the change over happens.

You see, here I go with the watching of the TV....UGH!

One of "those" days

Have you ever had one of "those" days when you just couldn't get stuff done? Or the day that started off well...but you quickly fell behind schedule. You wanted to get "this" done before noon time...but, it didn't get done until 2pm.

That's the day I'm having. It's Friday. Friday at my house is "cleaning day". I like having our home ready for the weekend. Of course, I've done...um...well...nothing. I did get the beds made. I have vacuuming todo. I have a load of dishes in the sink. Folded clean clothing to put away. Toys to pick up. Dusting to do.

Why am I so behind? Is it because I'm on the computer typing this out? Not really, it's only taken me a few minutes. Or maybe it's just me WASTING my time surfing. Oh that must be it. Or it could be the 6 phone calls my husband has made to me today. Maybe...but I do like it when he calls.

I guess it's just one of those days. I just have to tell myself tomorrow is another day and I WILL get my chores done today...even if it means I'm vacuuming at 11:45pm!
